Approximately 50 units registered with Steve Leake to compete in the various divisions at the Sperryville Firemen’s Carnival Parade. Few folks in Castleton remember who took first place over them, but Nancy Leake says it was Amissville. (May the Castleton correspondent from Amissville be permitted to drop objectively for a moment to cheer both brave fire departments, not only for their efficiency, but also for their good looks?)

Well, we’ve been waiting by the phone to hear about your summer vacation plans. Ray and Ruby Cannon expect their daughter Donna tomorrow for a trip from college in Colorado. Gene and Donna Fisher recently returned from a tour along the East Coast. Please feel free to contact our Castleton correspondent with your news.
