Estabrook reported on the final cafeteria balance— figures in the black for both the high school and elementary school operations. “We’re very proud of Judy Burke and her staff,” Estabrook said, prompting a question from Sharon Kilpatrick in the audience as to the cost of school lunches next year. Estabrook replied that that issue needed further study.
Another question from the audience came from Bruce Vierling, who requested that students be able to take^iersonal typing before their senior year, since it would benefit them in their academic and personal life.
Massie replied that the board as well as the administration would be flexible in their assigning of students to courses.
After an executive session, the board voted to hire Yount, Hyde and Barbour to audit the activity fund, appointed Kim Chesson as cheerleader sponsor, Kathy Hewitt as a ftill-time music teacher, and Elizabeth Gehringer as study hall aide. The board also voted to release Shelley Wolfe from her contract pending the availability of a new math teacher.
