Most citizens had plans of staying home on New Year’s Eve, although Waverly and Lillian Frazier were attending the Gid Brown Baptist revival that evening. The Fraziers had a won3* derful Christmas with all their children, everyone taking turns cooking dinner.
And of course, most citizens were upset with the Redskins losing the play-off game last Sunday. This correspondent was lucky not to have “hangups” in her ear!!! Making her calls after the “big loss” was not too cheery.
Frank and Doris Donald were staying home New Year’s Eve. They had a pleasantly quiet Christmas in Maryland with their daughter, Margaret and her nice family. This was little Sara’s, their granddaughter’s first Christmas.
Roy and Martha Knighting were staying home New Year’s Eve too, as well as Mr. and Mrs. Combs of Cat Hollow Farm and Kenneth and Shirley Settle. Most people just wanted to stay off those roads!!
Raymond and Aloha Hitt had visitors from Delaware over the holidays. They were Raymond’s sister and her husband, Sara and John Heitz, who stayed for about two days. The Hitts planned to stay home New Year’s Eve also. They visited Raymond’s aunt and her husband, Alpha Mae and Ray Sut
