Bertha Bennett

Mrs. Bertha Elliott Bennett, 95, of Front Royal, died Thursday, December 27 at Warren Memorial Hospital in Front Royal.

Funeral services were conducted on Sunday at Turner- Robertshaw Funeral Home in Front Royal by the Rev. John K. Burke, Jr. Burial was in the Washington Masonic Cemetery.

Bom March 29, 1889, in Rappahannock County, she was the daughter of the late James R. and Elizabeth Embrey Elliott. She was married to the late James Walker Bennett.

Surviving are three sons, George P. Bennett and James C. Bennett, both of Front Royal and Ellis W. Bennett of Flint Hill; four daughters, Lillian E. Knight and Stella Payne, both of Front Royal, Annie B. Hawkins of Washington and Rena M. Burke of Luray; 30 grandchildren; 73 great-grandchildren and 36 great great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were James K. Elliott, Bobby Corbin, Wayne Bennett, Richard Burke, Bill Hawkins and Frank Hawkins.

Grandsons served as honorary pallbearers.
