Offices that Dodson has held have been the treasurer of the National Honor Society, treasurer of the Future Business Leaders of America, treasurer of the sophomore class, treasurer of the senior class and secretary of the Future Homemakers of America.
Dodson said that in the future she would like to work in the accounting field. She has yet to decide her college plans.
Brooks has received Wakefield’s American History Award and the Virginia Math League Award. He has earned honors in oratory, and has been president of the Prefect Council and Student Body. Brooks was manager of the varsity soccer team, the assistant editor of the yearbook, the news editor of the school newspaper, vice-president of his church’s youth group and a member of the selection committee for his church’s new rector.
Members of the senior class or student body choose by vote three seniors who would qualify for the DAR award. From those three, the high school faculty select the one to be named the school’s “Good Citizen”. Contestants then submit resumes of activities and achievements, letters of recommendation, honors received and an essay on a subject in American History. All are judged at the district, regional, state and national levels.
