People in Rappahannock area who plan to apply for a Social Security number should remember to apply at feast two weeks before they will need the number, Bruce A. Hundley, Social Security manager in Culpeper, said recently.
It takes th’ . time to process the application, evaluate the evidence, search the files at Social Security headquarters, and to issue and mail the Social Security number card.
When applying, a person must have evidence of age', identity, and citizenship or legal alien status, Hundley said.
