Robert Alther
Robert Alther, 63, of Washington, D. C., formerly of Amissville, died Friday, December 20, 1986, at his residence.
A native of Culpeper County, he was a veteran of World War II.
Mr. Alther is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mildred Silvey Alther, four daughters, Mrs. Shirley Fleming of Fairfax, Mrs. Judy Bernes of Redondo "Beach, Calif., Mrs. Joy Raum of Washington, D. C., and Mrs. Pamela Batres of Annapolis, Md.; two sons, Kenneth Alther of Annapolis, Md., and David Alther of Washington, D. C., 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted December 24 at the Geest-Johnson Funeral Home in Culpeper by the Rev. Paul Markee. Interment was at the Hitt family cemetery near Amissville.
Pallbearers were Michael Fleming, Timothy Fleming, Michael Raum, Alfred Batres, John Jenkins and John A. Jenkins, Jr.
Mae Jenkins
Mae Florence Jenkins, 87, of Culpeper, formerly of Boston, died Thursday, December 26, 1986 at Culpeper Health Care Center.
Mrs. Jenkins was a native of Rappahannock County and a member of Culpeper Assembly of. God Church. 0
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Littleton Fincham and Mrs. Everette Hoffman, both of Culpeper, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Howard Jenkins of Culpeper and Mrs. Rosser Jenkins of Jamesville, N. C.
A funeral service was conducted December 29 at the Geest-Johnson Funeral Home, Culpeper, by the Rev. William Smith. Interment was at Fairview Cemetery, Culpeper.
