Snow will be very much with us during the first month of the New Year. Full Moon, which usually is designated the “Wolf Moon” according to Indian lore, occurs at^7:32 p.m. on the 25th, but could very well be named the “Snow Moon” this year since we call for snow or rain on that date.
WEATHER FORECAST
Look for cyclonic storms on 1, 2 and 7, 8, 9. Flurries will be in the area the 10th- 13th, followed by more storms on the 13th-16th. Snow is predicted for the 20th and 21st, with more storms 25-27, winding up the month with snow on the 31st.
COMET HALLEY
Our celestial visitor will be in Aquarius from the 1st through the 18th, best viewed in the early evening (with a 5.3 magnitude) as it crosses the Earth’s orbit bound toward the Sun. On the 10th the comet will be 130 million miles from Earth.
