James Mahoney

James Daniel Mahoney, 72, of Front Royal, died Monday, December 23, 1985, at Warren Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Mahoney was born October 8, 1913, in Rappahannock County, son of the late Joseph Smith Mahoney and Bessie Williams Mahoney. He was retired from the former Beef Cattle Research Station at Front Royal.

His wife Maggie Miller Mahoney predeceased him.

Surviving are three daughters, Lorraine Starnes of Front Royal, Margaret Williams and Edna Williams of Chester Gap, two sisters, Annabelle Mahoney of Chester Gap and Sarah Sealock of Front Royal, eight grandchildren and one greatgrandchild.

Funeral services were conducted December 27 at Chester Gap Baptist Mission by the Rev. William Alford. Burial was in the Williams family cemetery at Chester Gap.

Pallbearers were Aubrey Ritenour, Jimmy Burke, Bradley Pullen, Billy Pullen, Junior North and Lynwood Williams. t Honorary pallbearers were Charles Frazier, Leroy Pomeroy, Tommy Heslep, Joe Williams, Chris Williams and Ronnie Dodson.
