Requests for financial assistance in public transportation, ridesharing and transportation for the elderly and handicapped are now being received by the Rail and Public Transportation Division of the Virginia Department of Highways and Transportation.

On January 13, 1986, public information meetings will be held to answer specific questions concerning eligibility and application requirements. The meetings will be conducted in the Agecroft Room at the Department of Motor Vehicles’ (DMV) main office in Richmond. From 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, public transportation funding will be discussed and from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., transportation funding for the elderly and disabled will be covered.

Those planning to attend must obtain a parking permit through the Rail and Public Transportation Division. Directions to DMV and program information packages also are available upon request.
