SBC meeting March 9
The regular meeting of the Sperryville Business Council will be held Monday, March 9, at 7:30 p.m. at Nonna Gioia’s Restaurant on Rt. 211 west. The SBC’s new brochure will be discussed. All members are urged to attend.
Stress management workshop
A workshop entitled Touch Techniques and Stress Management will be held at the Child Care and Learning Center on March 14, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The class will be taught by Carrie Blair and Kurt Millar. ’Night, Mother’
The movie ’Night, Mother will be playing at the Gay Street Theatre Saturday and Sunday, March 7 and 8, at 7:30 p.m. The movie stars Sissy Spacek and Anne Bancroft. Tom Moore has directed this screen version of Marsha Norman’s Pulitzer prize winning play which depicts the final hours of a young woman (Sissy Spacek) who has decided that Ufe is not worth living. Sissy and Anne Bancroft, who plays her farm woman mother, are both expected to receive Academy Award nominations for their superb performances in this intense and moving drama. Heavy stuff but a must for serious movie goers. The movie is rated PG-13. Admission is $3 for adults and $2 for children.
Historical Society meeting
The winter meeting of the Rappahannock Historical Society will be held Friday, March 6, at 7:30 p.m. at the Courthouse on Gay Street. The speaker will be Judge Harris Grimsley and the topic of discussion will be "Events Leading up to the Constitution of the United States.” All members and interested persons are invited to attend.
Fashion show planned
The annual fashion show sponsored by the Rappahannock Woman’s Club will be held Sunday, April 5, at 2 p.m. Fashions are by Frank’s and Warren Quality of Front Royal, Jack & Jill of Culpeper, The Second Look and The Peppermint Stick of Madison.
This year’s show, "Bon Voyage,” will be held at the Rappahannock County Elementary School and proceeds will go toward the Woman’s Club scholarship and Rappahannock Area Little League Baseball safety equipment. Advance tickets or patron ads may be purchased from any member.
Meeting of RAA
The Rappahannock Athletic Association will meet on Tuesday, March 10, at 7 p.m. at the Child Care and Learning Center. Anyone interested in helping as coach, umpire for Little League or as a fundraiser is urged to attend. Summer baseball registration
Registration for T-Ball, Little League or Babe Ruth will be held Saturday, March 14, from 10 to 11 a.m. and Saturday, March 21, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at the Rappahannock County Elementary School baseball fields. Registration fee for T-Ball and Little League will be $10 for the first two children in a family and $5 for each additional child. Babe Ruth registration fee will be $15 for each child.
