Dance at Amissville
The band Crossroads will play for a dance sponsored by the Amissville Volunteer Fire Department Saturday, March 14, from 9 p m. to 1 a.m. Proper dress is required and persons attending must be 21 years of age. For reservations or additional information call 9374357.
Movie hour for preschoolers
Movies scheduled for Wednesday, March 11, at the Rappahannock County Library are Lion Has Escaped, Happy Birthday Moon, Madeline, Circus Baby, and Where Should a Squirrel Live? Showtime is 10 to 11 a.m. All area preschoolers are invited and the movies are free.
CCLC community events
In the coming weeks the Child Care and Learning Center, located on Rt. 211 just west of Washington, will be sponsoring a variety of programs for the community:
Personal Growth Skills in the Age of Technology: Marque Kolack, educator and consultant, will give a survey of techniques for realizing creative potential. The seminar will be held Saturday, March 7, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at CCLC. The cost is $15. This session is an introduction to a series Mr. Kolack will be teaching on Mondays from March 16 to April 20. The classes will run from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Cost for the series is $45. Learn to read music: Susan Hunt will teach a six-week course designed to teach the amateur musician how to read music. Emphasis will be on note reading, rhythm counting, understanding basic harmonies and tonal relationships. The course will be held on Tuesday nights from 7:30 to 9:30 at CCLC through March 31.
