founded dance groups in many of the communities in which they have lived.

Their motivation springs from both their o|wn enthusiasm and a desire to shar^ this form of creative expression, j which brings people together from all walks of life and helps them to share an experience which, simply put, is fun for all who participate.

In describing the program, the Gottleibs said, “We plan to demonstrate short excerpts from some 20 or 30 folk dances in order to illustrate, in a systematic manner, how the intricate-appearing steps are simply a variation on walking. We will try to show how small differences in foot, arm and body movements can be made to reflect subtle aspects of rhythm, style, mood and cultural set.

“Some of the countries whose folk dance heritage will be illustrated are the USSR, England, Sweden, Poland, USA, Italy, Israel, Wales, Yugoslavia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Turkey, Scotland and Denmark.

“Some of the dances we will demonstrate to illustrate diffferent cultural aspects of folk dancing are the schottische, waltz, polka, Laendler, Mazurka, Hambo, Kola and Hora, among others.”

The program, which should be of interest to the entire community, is free of charge. Refreshments will be served.

Give the people issues, and you will not have to sell your souls for campaign funds.
