The Panthers refused to give ground, managing to keep the margin dose and even whittling it to nine with three minutes left in the period. Then the Cougars broke the game open again, scoring five points on a combination of one Kevin Huber free throw, a jumper by John Lee and two more from the line by Eugene Baltimore, opening the lead to 62-48. As the fourth quarter began, Manassas Park held a 14-point lead, 68-64.
In the first two minutes of the final quarter, Rappahannock dosed the gap to 11, 71-60, but Manassas Park broke away again on two Lee baskets and another Huber free throw, leading 76-60 with five minutes left.
