Fans of the Rappahannock County High School basketball program had a busy week, as both the Panthers’ Varsity and Junior Varsity teams took a shot at Bull Run District titles.
The Rappahannock Junior Varsity team, which finished the regular season with a 19-1 record, going undefeated in 16 district games, rolled to the district championship, defeating Central High School 54-45 in the title game Saturday night.
Bull Run District has never had a team go undefeated in district competition before. Central offered the Panthers hot competition in the championship matchup - the Falcon JV had finished the year 14-2 in district play, their only two losses coming against Rappahannock.
