The Amissville Volunteer Fire Department's annual carnival is running through Saturday. The firemen's parade is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, and the > Carnival Queen will be crowned Friday night. Historical Society open on 4th
The Rappahannock County Historical Society will be open all day Monday, July 4. Members of the society will be at the building on Gay St. to assist anyone interested in tracing their Rappahannock roots. The society has Files on more than > 500 families in the county. Refreshments will also be served.

Bluemont Conceits continui
The BI uemdht Concert Series is in full swing this week, with two hot concerts set ^ in Warrenton and Culpeper. On Saturday, July 2, Doc Scanlin and his Imperial Palms. Orchestra will perform on the lawn of the Warren Green Hotel. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, the Swedish Big Band "Da Capo" will play on the steps of the i County Courthouse in Culpeper, beginning at 7 p.m. Both concerts are open to the public. A $2 donation is suggested. , V;
