Edith Baker
Edith Odessa Baker, 83, widow of Ellis Edward Baker of Washington, died June 25 at Heritage Hall, Charlottesville.
Mrs. Baker was a native of Page County, the daughter of the late Joseph N. and Emma F. Bailey Deavers. She was a member of the Culpeper Seventh Day Adventist Church.
She is survived by a son Lyle Edward Baker, Herndon, four daughters, Ruth Cushman, Rosemond, Cal., Emma Pugh, Orange, Frances Sanborn, Yantic, Conn., and Madeleine
Selvage, Manassas Park, a sister Minnie Racer, Sperryville, 22 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
Another son, Lynwood Russell Baker, died in February of this year.
Her funeral was conducted June 27 at Geest-Johnson Funeral Home
by Rev. Joseph Hagan. Interment was at Sperryville Cemetery.
Her grandsons served as pallbearers.
Allen Lomax
Allen 0. (Chub) Lomax, 60, of Warrenton, died June 25 at Culpeper Memorial Hospital.
He had been a line foreman with Virginia Power since 1949. He was a member of Bealeton Baptist Church and VFW Post 7728 at Morrisville.
