Tax rate

It is official: for 1988-89, the real estate tax rate in Rappahannock County will be 52 cents per $100 of assessed value.
At a special meeting Monday night, the Board of Supervisors adopted the proposed $6,609,961 county budget, set the salaries for employees as specified in that spending plan, and approved the 52-cent real estate rate and a personal property rate of $2.90.
In addition, Beverly Massie was reappointed to a four-year term as the School Board member from Jackson District %nd Dorothy Butler was named to the board to represent Piedmont District, replacing Nancy Reeve who had declined to seek another term.
