Stickers or decals are allowed on the rear side windows and rear window if the car has a right and left side view mirror. One sticker on the rear window is allowed in any case, so long as it is not larger than 20 square inches in area and is completely contained within the lower five inches of the glass.
The General Assembly has also designated the Virginia State Police as the central respository for records reporting terrorist acts beginnin July 1. The State Police developed the reporting form, which will be required of all law enforcement agencies. An illegal act is considered terrorist when it intimidates or instills fear because of race, religion or national origin.
Laws regarding weapons which go into effect July 1 include one which prohibits possession of a firearm on public school property. A new law makes it a misdemeanor to sell or give a firearm to a convicted felon, and an amendment to another law adds a ballistic knife to the list of illegal concealed weapons. A ballistic knife, or any knife with a detachable blade propelled by a spring-operated mechanism, is illegal if concealed.
Weapons modified to become machine guns are required to be registered within 24 hours of modification.
It will be a felony for any person to buy or receive a firearm from another person or to aid in concealing a firearm knowing that the firearm was stolen.
