Miss Penny Peyton, granddaughter of Mrs. W.S. Peyton, arrived home Sunday evening after a week’s trip to Seattle, Washington, where she attended the 21st Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Institute Convention. She was representing the Alpha Lamba Phi Chapter Honor Club of Germanna Community College where she is a student.

Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hopkins of Remington were recent guests of Mrs. Gladys Schlosser at Fox Hill.

Mr. and Mrs. George Whorton, Sarah and Stephen attended the wedding of Mrs. Whorton’s brother Don Frazier and Miss Gabrielle Gonzalas at Amissville Methodist Church last Saturday.

Mr. and Mrs. Paul Fincham of Leon were guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Fincham and Peggy and Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Cave and Tonya.

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Duncan were honored on their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, June 25, at a party at the home of their son-in-law and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Donald Padgett in Fairfax. The event was co-hosted by their sons and daughters-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Duncan and family of Fort Worth, Texas, and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Duncan and family of Shenandoah. A host of relatives and friends from this area attended the party.

Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Duncan and family left Tuesday to return home to Fort Worth after spending the week here.

The Rev. John Warren family were honored at a going away party by the members of Mt. Lebanon Church Sunday at the church. The Warrens left Monday for their new assignment in Indiana.
