The Court of Honor was held at Warsaw United Methodist Church. Opening ceremonies including the pledge of allegiance to our flag were led by David Woolard, the troop’s senior patrol leader and an Eagle Scout himself. The invocation was given by the Rev. William Jester of Trinity United Methodist Church, King George, who was Scott’s pastor when he lived in Winchester.
The highlight of the Court of Honor, the Eagle Ceremony, was opened by David Woolard. Scott was then presented and reports from the Eagle Board of Review were read by committee members. Major Eugene F. Hertling Jr. read the Eagle Charge and had Scott rededicate himself to the ideals of Scouting.
Finally, Dan Henderson presented the Eagle badge to Mrs. Kline, who proudly pinned it upon her son.
Scott was presented with a small miniature Eagle pin, which he pinned upon his mother, and a tie tack, which he presented to his father. Scott then made a few well chosen remarks, in which he thanked everyone who had helped him, along the way an<J listed goals for the future.
