of “Pomp and Circumstance” played in the background, the senior class, wearing robes of navy and gold, will receive their diplomas at commencement this Saturday, June 10. The ceremony will be held in the gymnasium, beginning at 10 a.m.
Principal John Toth will welcome the seniors, their families and guests. Diplomas will be presented by School Board Chairman Beverly Massie and Superintendent David Gangel.
A total of 15 scholarships will be awarded by local civic organizations and individuals. There will also be several commendations presented.
A new scholarship this year is the Julia Boddie Education Scholarship. Retired from her former post as a teacher at the elementary school, Mrs. Boddie will award the scholarship to a student with a good academic record, who shows promise of future success, and exhibits financial need.
