“Once we appeal to the town council, if we’re not effective we’re in a spot,” Mr. McCarthy said. “The real problem is whether we can expect Mr. Frizzell to continue supplying food. We are on a month to month contract. Once he says it’s over, we find somebody else to supply food services or we shut down the jail and pay to send our prisoners somewhere else. If necessary we might be able to use the school cafeterias.”

In making inquiries about other restaurants which might be willing to supply food, Mr. McCarthy said, “Everyone likes the hard and fast steady income, but they have a problem with three meals a day, 365 days a year. We’re going to have to wait and see what the town council does.”

“People who believe implicitly in laws and sausages should never watch them being made."
