Prayer service times change
Due to the beginning of Lenten services, the times of the weekly prayer services for peace at two local churches will change, effective this week. Each Wednesday at noon pn interdenominational service will be held at Washington Baptist Church. Each Wednesday at 7 p.m. a similar service will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church in Washington. On Feb. 20 and 27, the evening service at Trinity will be preceeded by an interdenominational potluck supper at 6:15 p.m. The public is invited to attend. The services are led by the Rev. Jennings Hobson III and the Rev. Darrell Bare. “This is something that we offer to the entire community,” the Rev. Hobson said. The services will continue as long as the Gulf war continues, he added.
