Taxpayers in Rappahannock County can get free help with their tax returns through two programs sponsored by the Internal Revenue Service.
Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) is for lower income, handicapped and non-English speaking individuals who file the simplified tax forms or who qualify for the Earned Income Credit. Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) assistance is available for all individuals over the age of 60.
