She is survived by her husband, Robert Compton of Reva; a brother, John Johnson of Zanesville, Ohio; two sons, Richard and Carl Compton; a sister, Mary Purcell of Fayetteville, Ga. and four grandchildren.
Mrs. Compton was bom Aug. 25, 1923, in Zanesville, Ohio, the youngest child of Oscar and Hazel Barr Johnson. She graduated from Zanesville’s High School in June 1941, and worked as a nurse’s aide and later for the Black and Grant Company.
The Rev. Kenneth Huneycutt, the Rev. Wayne Thompson and the Rev. A.W. Jackson officiated at the service. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery.

Frances Exline
Mrs. Frances Lee Exline, 51, of Washington died Sunday, Feb. 17, 1991 at Prince William Hospital in Manassas.
Mrs. Exline was born Jan. 25, 1940 in Fauquier County, the daughter of Dorothy A. Marsh of Warrenton and the late Henry Marsh.
Additional survivors besides her mother include her husband, Robert L. Exline; two daughters, Wanda Cervantes of Madison, Ga. and Clorice O’Maley of Rixeyville; two sons, Robert Douglas Exline of Washington and Donnie Exline of Rixeyville; five sisters, Charlotte Harvey of Fairfax, Sandra Haught of Warrenton, Marceline Green of Honolulu, Hawaii, Peggy Frazier of Orlean and Gloria Payne of Haymarket; three brothers, William Marsh and Edward Marsh, both of Warrenton and Sam Marsh of Alexandria and six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held today, Thursday, Feb. 21 at 1 p.m. at Hazel River Assembly of God church in Rixeyville with the Rev. Chester Caudill officiating. Interment will be in Marshall cemetery.
