Festival applications accepted
Oldway Craft Village of Sperryville is now accepting applications for the fourth annual Oldway Demonstrating Craft Festival on Memorial Day weekend. Past attendance has been two to five thousand, with fifty artists showing. Demonstrations are encouraged but not required, interested artists should call the Oldway office at 703-9878474.
Cemetery cleanup planned
A cleanup day for the First Baptist Church cemetery is being planned for Saturday, Feb. 23 beginning at 10 a.m. Anyone willing to help or who has tools is urged to attend if weather permits. For more information, call David Clanagan (987-8937) or Eunice Lewis (6753612).
Woman's Club to meet
The Rappahannock Woman’s Club will meet on Tuesday, Feb. 26 at 7:30 p.m. at the home of Pat Giles in Washington. Final plans for the fashion show will be discussed and all members are urged to attend.
Olde Towne tickets on sale
Tickets for Olde Towne Theatre’s premiere production, “Murder At The Howard Johnson’s” are now on sale at the Mountainside Market in Washington, The Royal Oak Bookstore in Front Royal, the New Leaf Bookstore in Warrenton and by calling (703) 675-1157. Tickets are $12.00. The show opens March 1 at The Theatre at Washington, Virginia (formerly the Gay Street Theatre).
Gallery presents Members' Show
The February exhibition at the Middle Street Gallery is the 1991 Members’ Show which will present a current overview of artwork being produced by member artists from Fauquier, Culpeper, Warren and Rappahannock counties. Curator Tanya Richey has asked artists to put their best current works in this show. We are also presenting a guest exhibition of Soviet photographer Edik Gladkov’s “Washington Post series on poverty in Russia.” The artists’ reception will be held on Sunday, Feb. 10, 3-6 p.m. Gallery hours are Friday-Sunday, 11 a.m.-6 p.m. For further information call (703) 675-3440.
