the area. The third nominee was Steve Critzer, who, although unaware that his name was in nomination, had attended the Town Council meeting and subsequently accepted the nomination.
• Was asked by Mayor Morehouse to consider obtaining federal flood insurance, a conventional lender mortgage requirement. The insurance, Mayor Morehouse, would not present any expense and, as there are serveral flood plains in the town, one on Piedmont Ave. and one down by the fire hall, it was decided that council member Ray Gooch would look into it.
• Decided to hold a public hearing at the September meeting to hear input on the streetlight situation. Currently there are three different styles of streetlights which have been erected in the town: the cobraarm fixture in front of the Courthouse, the acorn globe fixture near Trinity Episcopal Church and the radial wave fixture located near the Health Department. Town resident Charlie Eldred advised council members to go out and look at the fixtures at night to access the differences in the actual lighting. Mr. Gooch made a motion to put the same bulbs in both the acorn globe fixture and the radial wave fixture in order to ascertain the differences between the two. The motion was seconded and passed.
Mr. Eldred said that the cost of the posts must be figured into the overall costs. Information on cost differences and other aspects of the fixtures will be made available to the public at the September hearing.
