SHARE delivery day
The August Delivery Day for SHARE is 10-11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 22 at the Washington Baptist Church. All participants should pick up their groceries at this time.
A donation of not more than $1 will be appreciated on delivery day to defer the cost of gas for the two men who drive each month to pick up the groceries. Participants should also bring their community service vouchers and $13 in cash or food stamps to sign up for September.
Norman reunion
The annual Norman reunion will be held Sunday, Aug. 23, rain or shine at the Rappahannock Park, U.S. 211, Washington.
Relatives and friends are invited. Please bring a covered dish and beverage. Lunch will be served at 1 p.m. “Plan to attend,” said a family organizer.
'Where Angels Fear to Tread'
“Where Angels Fear to Trad,” rated PG, starring Helen Mirren, Giovanni Guidelli, Judy Davis, Barbara Jefford, Helena Bonham Carter and Rupert Graves will be shown at The Theatre at Washington, Va. next Sunday, Aug. 30, the weekly RACC-sponsored movie. There will not be a movie shown this weekend due to the live performance of “H.M.S. Pinafore.”
Whe;n Lilia (Helen Mirren), an English widow, goes to Tuscany and impulsively marries Gino Carella (Giovanni Guidelli), a much younger Italian man, her British in-laws are outraged. Years later when Lilia dies in childbirth, her first husband’s relatives journey to Italy to “rescue” the infant child from his father. Judy Davis, the imperious sister Harriet, is a villain out of Dickens, as is the family matriarch Mrs. Herriton (Barbara Jefford). Only Lilia’s friend Caroline (Helen Bonham Carter) and brother-in-law Philip (Rupert Graves) learn what it is to do the right thing.
