the deceleration lane would cost $8,000.

Now CCLC is conducting a fundraising drive to pay for the driveway and landscaping at the center.

Rose Ann Sharp, CCLC director, said so far $11,910 has been raised towards a goal of $20,000. She hopes the fund raising drive will exceed its goal so curbs can be put in also, trees can be planted and the playground area can be expanded. There are also plans to redo the entrance with children’s handprints in concrete.

Work on the new driveway is nearing completion. A huge pile of topsoil is ready to be spread on the old driveway loop. Some more work is needed on the bus turnaround.

Mrs. Sharp is also planning on a new modular building at the center to be built with Head Start funds she anticipates getting this winter. For two years she has been juggling grant applications trying to serve “at risk” three and four-year olds who will be served by Head Start.
