Page Fair

to begin

The 40th annual Page Valley Fair will be held Aug. 22-29.

Opening day at the fair Saturday, Aug. 22 will feature the annual fair beauty and baby pageants beginning at 1 p.m.

On Sunday, Aug. 23, an open horse show will begin at 10 a.m.

Other highlights of the fair week include:

• Monday, Aug. 24 4-H/FFA events 6-8 p.m.; Rob Crosby (country singer) 7 to 9 p.m.

• Tuesday, Aug. 25 kids day, free admission; 4-H/FFA events with commercial cattle show 2 p.m.; 4H/FFA swine show 7:30 p.m.; Stonebridge band 7 and 9 p.m.

• Wednesday, Aug. 26 Schooling horse show 9 a.m.; NTPA tractor pull 7 p.m.

• Thursday, Aug. 27 4-H/FFA steer, lamb, swine sale 6 p.m.; The Missionaries, gospel group 7 p.m. and Sierra featuring Renee Fristoe 9 p.m.

• Friday, Aug. 28 demolition derby 7 p.m.

• Saturday, Aug. 29 Echo Star Band and Delmas Dean 7 and 9 p. m.

Season tickets are on sale at various businesses at $12 for adults and $4 for children 6-12. Daily admissions will be $3 for adults and $1.50 for children, except Sunday admission at half price.

There is no grandstand fee and plenty of parking is available at the fairgrounds in east Luray.
