Rappahannock County landfill will close half a day on Thursday, Dec. 31. Normal hours remain Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Closed Wednesday and Sunday.
Reminder, all residents may recycle at the landfill, help extend the life of our landfill by taking a few moments to separate your newspapers, aluminum cans, glass bottles, and plastic jugs. You are also reminded that lumber can no longer be burned but must be placed in the dumpster along with household trash. At Rappahannock landfill Christmas trees may be disposed by placing on brush pile.

The Library proudly announced the generosity of Quita Parrish and Sophie Chandler Consagara for their gift of Civil War documents, a 128volume set of “Official Records of the Union and Confederate Armies,” according to last week’s Rappahannock News.
