Midnight . . . New Year's Eve. Confetti flies! Laughter resounds! This is the long awaited moment. It is a new beginning. Everyone is confident. Resolutions have been made for weeks. This year will be different! Arc you ready? This year can be different with God's help. We can keep those resolutions with the strength which God provides, long after New Year's Day has come and gone. Life is unpredictable, and reality may attempt to weaken our resolve. Without His help we arc as helpless as babes, yet when we trust in God, we are promised that “Old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." (2 Corinthians 5:17) Listen! Hear the church bells ring throughout the city, a most important signal of this new start. Hearken to those bells each Sabbath of the coming year. Walk with God. You will always be ready.
