Many of the approximately 160 employees at the Flint Hill plant have been working there for 20 yeare or longer. One woman, who has been there since 1962, when the plant first opened, said, “It is scary. We worked a lot of Saturdays to get our work done. I think it is downright cruel.”

Another said, “I don’t know what people with kids will do, especially the single parents.”

After the announcement, it was reported, some women cried; some were mad. “There were a lot of mad women out there,” said another employee. “There have been women working there who pushed themselves to no end to see that orders got done and got out of there on time,” said another.

The employees interviewed for this article said they feel unappreciated despite the hard work and overtime they have put in year after year. Many complained of never receiving answers to their questions about the plant’s possible closing,
