COMPREHENSIVE SERVICES ACT
FOR AT-RISK YOUTH AND FAMILIES
In accordance with the Comprehensive Services Act for At-Risk Youth and Families enacted by the 1992 General Assembly of Virginia, the Board of Supervisors has appointed a Community Policy and Management Team (CPMT) which sets policy and manages the distribution of services under the Act's requirements.
The CPMT consists of one representative each from the Rappahannock-Rapidan Community SerPhil IrwmServices Unit, the Rappahannock County Health Department, the Rappahannock County Department of Social Services, the Rappahannock County Public Schools, a private organization or association of providers for children's or family services in Rappahannock County and a parent (who may not be an employee of any public or private agenc^ which provides services to children or families). Also on the CPMT is the County Administrator and the Sheriff of Rappahannock County.
The CPMT administers state and local funds for foster care, residential placement and other programs which may be available to provide for the needs of troubled youth and their families.
The Board is seeking qualified persons to fill the seat reserved for parents.
Members of the CPMT are immune from any civil liability for decisions made about the appropriate services for a family or the proposed placement or treatment of a child who comes before the team, unless it is proved that such person acted with malicious intent.
