“It was a downpour. We had to pull off the road twice and wait for it to let up,” she said. “The water was coming up to the hubcaps.”
Mrs. Lauterback said she knew there was a low spot at Cross Creek, but didn’t realize how deep the water had gotten or how fast it was rushing.
