Commissioner of Revenue Beverly Atkins will be seeking her third full term. She was first appointed in January 1986 and was elected in 1986. She was elected to full terms in 1987 and 1991.
“We eryoy working with the public and eiyoy being able to work so close to home. We will continue to do it if the people will have us,” she said, referring not only to her work but that of her assistants as well.
Treasurer Frances Foster will be seeking her sixth full term. She was appointed in March 1973 and won election in November of that year. She was reelected in 1975, 1979, 1983, 1987 and 1991.
“I like the job and will run for another four-year term,” she said.
In addition all five seats on the Board of Supervisors are up for election this year, and for the first time Rappahannock voters will have an opportunity to elect members of the School Board.
