Perhaps the Game Warden or Department of Game and Inland Fisheries could shed some light on the subject of bears for the readers of the Rappahannock News. I am a fast, eager learner with an expandable knowledge base. Others need to know that bears are not all Teddys. Fellow readers, take a hike! Look around, but be careful—they are out there!
Finally as to the picture of the bear—pongraulations, Mr. Lagosyou appeared to have a nice clean kill; I appreciated seeing the actual size of the bear. I would like to know its weight. As a fellow hunter, I realize the skill you have mastered. Thank you and the Rappahannock News for sharing your story with us. I enjoyed it.

I was dismayed to find on the front page of your Dec. 14 issue a photograph of a dead bear strung-up * to look as if he were “dancing,” the inclusion of that photograph, withits headline, “Dancing Bear?” was in egregiously poor taste and demonstrate shocking insensitivity.
