Re'p. Wolf said he also plans a hearing on Amtrack. In the past Congress has required the rail line to operate unprofitable routes which ensured it couldn’t make a profit. A non-partisan review of its operations, much like the military baseclosing commission, would establish which routes can be operated profitably and which should be shut down, he said.
He will reintroduce his Shenanhoah Valley battlefield park bill and a bill to require prisoners to work.
The change in Congress is already happening, Rep. Wolf said in an interview late last month. The Republicans began fulfilling the promisee in the “Contract” by abolishing tWee committees, cutting off funding for legislative caucuses and halting the practice of passing honorary resolutions.
