Rappahannock New* Contributing Writer ; Rappahannock’s girls’ varsity volleyball team got its first win last Wednesday in the Madison Invitational Tournament, a day long event that included Luray, Madison, Monroe, Orange and Buffalo Gap at Madison County High School.
The Panthers played four matches and won the fourth, a match with Orange County. • The .first game of the day was (flayed against Monroe which got a quick 3-0 lead. They continued to surge ahead and at 8-2 coach Conklin called a time out. After that Rapp made two more points leaving Monroe with a 15-4 victory. I Rapp made the first point in the second game but was rapidly overtaken by Monroe who made the score 5-1 in their favor. At the end of the second game the score was again 154.
The second match w as gainst Luray- and played immediately after the first. Rapp took at 2-0 lead which Luray almost immeditely tied. By the time the Panthers regained control of the ball the score was 9-3. Luray won the first game, and the score was another 15-4.
