pheasant, owl, rabbit, squirrel, coons, fox, possums, quail, woodhens, bobcat, mountain cats, birds of many colors, beavers, bears, ete. However all of my experiences have not been fun. Foxes and dogs have killed my chickens. I’ve been followed by a mountain cat, which also took a leap at me. I’ve had deer jump over my car and near misses with others. I’ve followed and been followed, even chased by a bear.
People have to realize that all these animals are real and any of them, even farm animals, can be dangerous. (Beware of my roosters.)
If you’re in Rappahannock you’re in the wild. It is ridicullous and outright funny to think that any of these animals are uncommon and rare here “in the wild.” I’ve seen a dozen or more bear here in the county. I’ve also seen bears in three surrounding counties and many up on Skyline Drive. Bears can be very destructive. They have attacked calves and horses, ruined crops, bee hives, and gardens here in this county in the. past. f People need to become more aware of what is around them. I couldn’t believe the remarks made about the bear and/or photo. Why should people be offended? (it wasn’t a picture of the dressing.) Why not kill a bear? May you never be chased by one. Stop killing bears, fox, bobcat, etc.? What Are You Saying? I did not find the bear photo upsetting, tasteless, disrespectful, disappointing, or anything else along these lines.
