In the Christmas Decorations Contest, sponsored by the Amissville Ruritan Club, the first place winner was James and Bertha Jacobs on Route 642.
Second place winner was Frank Gioiaon U.S. 211.
Third place winner was Raymond and Elsie Gheen on Route 611.
Roger Cordani headed the judging team. Thanks to everyone for decorating the village so nicely during the holiday season.
Congratulations to Scott Chamberlin for winning the 13-inch color TV from Mayhughs. Scott is an active member of the Amissville Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department; well deserved!
A Mrs. Fletcher won the ham from Mayhugh’s.
Prize-winners at Hackley’s were Doris Bywaters won an old ham, Evelyn Burroughs won the oysters, Viola Haines won the BBQ, Barbara Elliott won the Christmas bear and Faye Smoot won the Hackley’s Tshirt.
Janet Makela of Hackley’s said they were so glad that all the winners were regular customers of the store.
Renovations have been completed on the old Stuart house by Stuart Field. Mrs. Mickey Stuart made a brief visit to her former house on Dec. 22.
Mrs. Nellie King and daughter Stacey spent Christmas in Alexandria with Nellie’s daughter Darlene, her husband Donald and children Vincent and Valerie Williams. Nellie’s daughter Bonnie Tibbs and her daughter Stephanie and friend (Mavis also spent Christmas at Darlene and Donald Williams. J
