On April 17 the Vest Family of Flint Hill won the Virginia Lottery jackpot. Everyone in Rappahannock was thrilled and happy for them. But what happens then? What have they done since winning?
Playing the lottery was a family game with everyone in the family of five sharing in the prize. Renee was' working at the Hillsdale Country Store when the Virgina Lottery representative came into announce that the winning ticket had been sold there. That created some, excitement, but nothing like what happened after her father, Grady, came in to check his winning ticket and then asked Renee to check it.
Grady and Renee went to her sister Cristal’s home where she was running a childcare business and they told her the news. Her husband had not left for work, so they left him in charge and went to Front Royal where mother Doris was working at the Super Fresh Grocery Store.
When Doris first saw her huband and both daughters coming to talk to her she feared something terrible had happened. After the shock of winning wore off she hept right on working
