The Rappahannock Board of Supervisors accepted the report of the School Board concerning funds being returned to the county from last year’s school budget. The school board will use the funds to pay for the balance of the cost of the roof repair at Rappahannock High School. . ,
The supervisors will wait until the bills come in and pay as necessary rather than giving any additional funds to the schools and thereby will avoid having any leftover funds coining back again. % The supervisors discussed the new laws concerning fingerprinting applicants for concealed handgun permits. £ * , The law changed as of July land now each county will have a local option to fingerprint for permits or hot .
County Attorney Peter Luke said the difference comes when you do the background check. Without the fingerprints, the record check is based on name. Social Security Number and date of birth, but with them a person convicted in another jurisdiction and possibly under another name will show up. j.
