A case of aggravated assault, which involved two Fauquier County men and which was turned over to that county, was reported on June 27. The incident took placenear the county line in Huntly.
Lewis Cameron, who had been drinking, was shot in the foot by Jeffrey Costello. The men were apparently friends who got into an argument and the gun discharged mistakenly. The shooting occurred in the car belonging to Mr. Cameron.
He was shot with a .22 caliber pistol and transported to Warren Memorial Hospital in Front Royal. The case was turned over to Fauquier and Mr. Costello was cooperative with authorities.
