Trout Unlimited meeting set

The public is invited to hear Billy Kingsley discuss “Using Popping Bugs to Fish for Trout and Fishing on Smith and Beaver Creeks." Mr. Kingsley is a contributing author for American Angler magazine and is co-owner of the Blue Ridge Angler Fly Shop in Harrisonburg. The program will take place on Wednesday, Jan. 12 at 7:30 p.m. in the Front Royal Youth Center, located at the northeast corner of Commerce Street (U.S. 522) and East 8th Street.

This program is sponsored by the recently formed Northern Shenandoah Valley Chapter of Trout Unlimited that meets monthly at 7:30 p.m. on the second Wednesday of the month. The Chapter charter includes a four-county area, all of Page, Shenandoah, and Warren counties and the northwestern part of Rappahannock County. Trout Unlimited is incorporated as a national, non-profit educational, charitable organization dedicated to protecting cold water fisheries and their watersheds.

Advisory meeting planned

The Special Education Advisory meeting will hold the first meeting of the new year on Jan. 13 at 3:30 p.m. in the library of the Rappahannock County Elementary School. All interested person are invited to attend.

Sperryville committee sets meeting

Havura Ktana group to meet

Huvura Ktana will meet Sunday, Jan. 16 at 1 p.m. at the Rappahannock Library in Washington. The program will be the documentary film, “Delta Jews,” which is about the Jewish community in the Mississippi Delta area of the Untied States. The film should spark an interesting discussion, perhaps with some parallels to Jewish life in Virginia. The film runs approximately 50 minutes.
