Rappahannock
I would like to thank the Rappahannock News for the kind
comments made about my father and grandparents in its “Citizens of the Century” article dated Dec. 29, 1999. There' are many other Rappahannock citizens who are worthy of thjs designation.
If there is anything I can add about the relationship between Rappahannock County and my family, it is that the, people of Rappahannock have enriched the lives of the Fletchers more than I can convey. Though I have lived in Richmond more than 20 years, it will never be my home as Rappahannock is. I am so proud to have been born and reared in Rappahannock and my pride in the county will be with me the rest of my life. ,
I have yet to meet anyone who is as arrogant about their, roots as I am. There is no place whose people possess such a richness of character or spirit, nor a place as lovely as Rappahannock.
