The Rappahannock Medical Clinic located in Washington opened for service last Monday. Drs. Jerry Martin and Werner Krebser have invited the public to an open house this Saturday afternoon for a tour of the building and refreshments.
Mother Nature fastidiously decorated the countryside with white festoons with the unexpected snow which fell in the area Monday. Every branch and twig bowed with the weight of the snow. C.G. Thornhill, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Thornhill of Boston, was recently named to the Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities. He was among 48 graduates selected from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University for the 1975 edition of the book.

The area’s heating fuel suppliers are hoping that the New Year will bring a respite from the record cold temperatures which chilled the state last month. The demand for heating oil, propane and kerosene has been so great that Virginia’s Transportation ^ Commissioner, Ray D'. Pethel, last week approved an emergency overweight allowance for bulk carriers of heating fuels. A series of 12 monthly evenings of contra, folk and square dancing is planned to celebrate the new decade of the nineties. An organizational meeting and the first dance is planned fot Jan. 11 at Blackwater Homestead near Boston and Castleton. Howard “Howdy” Holschuh recently returned from a six-man volunteer team to Tanzania. The two week visit was sponsored by the Shiloh Baptist Association and included six men from four Baptist churches in the area. Others included Lloyd Sims and David Chambers, also from Mt. Lebanon; Garry Charles of , Washington Baptist , John Bantam of Novum Baptist Church and Edward Van Every representing the Good Hope Baptist Church.
