Well the Y2K that wasn’t. I bet more people stayed up this New Year’s Eve, than ever before, just to see if something happened. I’m sure glad that everything went off without a hitch or glitch.

Okay, lets start the New Year with the Amissville clubs: The Amissville Homemakers met on Jan. 3, the new officers were sworn in. They meet the first Monday of each month at the Amissville Baptist Church at 7:30. If you want* more information or to join, call President Wanda DeLong at 937-7518.

The Amissville Ruritans will meet on Thursday Jan. 20 at 7 p.m. at the Amissville Baptist Church. The Ruritans are looking for new members. They also need help in finishing the community building. If you can help our please call President Charlie Mills at 937-6134.

The Amissville Community Association will have its monthly meeting on Thursday, Jan. 13 at 7 p.m. at the Amissville Methodist Church. We will be electing new officers for the year and discussing the community as a whole. All persons who live in the Amissville area, whether you live in Culpeper or Rappahannock are invited to attend. The Amissville Health and Fitness Club is still meeting every Tuesday morning at 11 a.m. at the Amissville Church. Nancy Nicholas is the person in charge, for more information she can be reached at 9374470. Joining this club may help with those New Year’s resolution to get fit!
