Six conservation easements recorded after Christmas raise Rappahannock's easementprotected landscape to 11,813 , acres or 8.5 percent of all private land.
Included were two of the County's historic properties: Jessamine Hill (76 acres owned by John M. Anderson) and Piedmont Farm (400 acres owned by Rolf and France Graage). - Gary and Jene Younkin protected their 282-acre Bolton Branch Farm, which borders Shenandoah National Park north of Flint Hill.
Two separate easements were granted by Leslie and Andrew Cockbum covering Firefly Farm, 238 acres adjacent to Red Oak Mountain. And Charles and Susan Stritlmatter ruled out any future subdivision of their 50 acres, fronting on the Rappahannock River near Flint Hill.
